Client background
Murco Petroleum Limited is the U.K. downstream subsidiary of
Murphy Oil Corporation of the U.S.A. Murco was established in the
U.K. by Murphy Oil Corporation in 1960. In spite of being the
smallest integrated oil company in the UK, Murco has endured and
thrived in a market which had driven out a number of larger
competitors. Its size and flexibility have enabled it to respond to
changing times and remain, to its customers, a trusted name with a
reputation for solid business performance. Its own supplies of North
Sea Oil are refined at its Milford Haven refinery and delivered
through its network of distribution terminals to some 400 service
stations throughout the UK.

Points of note
The move to St Albans, after 30 years in London, was made only
after careful thought, and demanded sensitivity and a respect for
the cultural changes involved. The offices were divided by
specialist magnetic walls for more convenient display of charts,
maps and presentation material. Storage walls were also used
extensively - indeed, laid end to end they would stretch around a
running track five times.
Client comment
"I’m glad we chose Maris. Despite some inherent flaws in the
building, they did what they had to, to deliver on time and within
budget." |
