Client background
A respected US proprietary derivatives firm, Marquette has had a
European presence for eight years. The decision to consolidate their
European offices into one London base was one taken after much
careful thought, particularly given the need for the offices to
reflect the style and culture of olde England rather than that of a
large and anonymous building that might have been located anywhere
in the world.
Scope of works included
- Space planning & design consultancy
- Project management
- Raised floors with under floor air-conditioning
- Full IT installation
- Kitchen & shower suite
- Bespoke partitioning joinery
- Dealer
desk configuration
- Specialist reception joinery
- Partitioning &
flooring
Points of note
Marquette chose the last remaining floor of a converted shipping
warehouse; itself part of a chic leisure and residential
development.
The design brief was to create a working environment with an olde
English loft feel, but as comfortable and attractive as your own
“front room”.
The project’s chief designer took time out from his family
holiday to visit the company’s Chicago HQ to get a feel for their
culture.
Client comment
"From a musty basement with no utilities, the Maris team took our
thoughts, ideas and passion for our office, and created an amazing
workspace that combined the traditional London wharf style with
leading edge technological solutions. Our workplace productivity and
profitability has soared since moving in and our dealing room has
become the envy of many in the industry." |
