FIA Foundation

Client background

The FIA Foundation is a newly established charity, registered in the United Kingdom, with an endowment of $300 million made by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA); the governing body of world motor sport and the international association of motoring organisations. The foundation’s activities focus on conducting new international research and campaigns which promote the improvement of road safety and encourage sustainable mobility and environmental transport use.

Scope of works included

  • Space planning & design consultancy
  • Project management
  • Partitioning
  • Lighting installation & alterations
  • Air-conditioning
  • Ceiling modifications
  • Flooring
  • Existing WC refurbishment
  • Data cabling & power
  • Specialist joinery

Points of note

The building included an awkward extension to the top floor, which made the space planning and design detailing a significant challenge. The symmetry of the space was resolved by ingenious overcladding.

Client comment

"We were delighted with every aspect of the Maris approach - particularly the design team's willingness to produce some outstanding creative options without a firm budget on the table."
